Our Work Packages (WP)

SOLARIS comprises 5 complementary work packages (WP)

Work Package 1 (WP1)

Conceptual Framework and Methods

WP1 has two key objectives:

  • Develop an interdisciplinary conceptual framework for the understanding and analysis of social inequalities in relation to climate change adaptation policies
  • Develop and define an assessment framework and methodological guidance and protocols which will be applied by researchers during the project.

Work Package 2 (WP2)

Case Study Analysis

8 case studies will cover the different CCAP strategies. These strategies are implemented differently from 1 country to another but practitioners may share similar questions when they launch projects and have similar concerns about the impact of CCAPs. WP2 will analyze socio-spatial inequalities deriving from these strategies and the initiatives from institutional stakeholders to limit them.

Work Package 3 (WP3)

Cross-Case comparison

The main objective of this WP is to assess, from a comparative perspective, how and how far distributional and procedural issues have been taken into account within the implementation processes of CC adaptation policies and with what effects on the situation of the vulnerable population.

Coordination & Management

This work package concerns the overall management and coordination of the project. The WP is designed to ensure that the work within the different work packages adheres as closely as possible to the planned schedule, and that this work is then integrated effectively to achieve the scientific and societal goals of the project.
